Recommendation by Prof. Florian Colceag, president of IRSCA Gifted Education, www.supradotaţi.ro and EDUGATE- The Romanian Consortium for the Education of Gifted and Talented Youth and Children, international expert in gifted education, representative for Romania of the World Council for Gifted and Talented Children:
“We are currently witnessing an increase by approximately 10% per year of the number of children with hyperactivity, or with ADHD, or ADD, and of the number of children who find it hard to adapt to the logical transfer process of visual or kinesthetic elements into written or spoken elements.
The didactic techniques for small children do not cover well enough these special education behaviors and needs. These metamorphosis and multi-modular objects created by Mrs. Adriana Crişan are a great help for teachers, parents and of course children.
The Emalldo toys aren’t simple toys, they are interactive study items that train the children’s capacity to focus, to mentally visualize dynamic items, to think analytically, in space, to understand objects in movement from a kinesthetic point of view, all leading to a higher analytical IQ, creativeness and inventiveness, and to better motivational factors to support children in solving difficult issues creatively.
More over, the interactive objects are everybody’s favorites, and even the most hyperactive children are fascinated by them. They have been tested in pilot studies with very promising results regarding the children’s positive abilities.
For all these reasons I wholeheartedly recommend these products, that are truly useful and have the potential to be absorbed by the educational market.”
Recommendation by Eugenia POP, artist, member of the Professional Artists’ Association, teacher for the Belle Arte High school “Romulus Ladea”, Cluj, May 15, 1996:
“The toys created by Adriana Crişan are an invention originating in the geometry of platonic elements. The clean modulated shapes change due to the mobility of each individual part. Their movements can uncover many shapes, symmetrical or not. The proportional and clean construction, rigorously mathematical, make these objects very beautiful. They can be used as study models in art schools, in drawing classes, for geometric drawings, architecture and design. They are not functional forms but they can become starting points for all those who use them in inventing new, both useful and esthetic, shapes.
A quality didactic material is very important in the education process, by helping children reach new creative investigation areas.
The books showing spread-out geometrical bodies could be a first method to promote spectacular discoveries in the field of regulated geometrical shapes.
I wholeheartedly recommend Emalldo given its usefulness.”
Recommendation by Iulian VOINEA, professor, Artist, member of the Professional Artists’ Association in Romania:
„Without pretending to issue theories on this subject that is more than able to support itself, I can still make some observations, general as they may be. The polyvalence of these modular developments in space reach into the esthetic and into the practical sphere of life and equally addresses, irrespective of age, to both the spirit and the mind. Perhaps even more interesting than the fact that they are interesting, beautiful, current, is the fact that they open the door to a whole new spirit and sensitivity of the future. Any innovation means novelty, but any novelty is not necessarily an innovation. Innovation changes the spirit of an era through its own notes and effects. Art renews and evolves, building relations with its own data and principles, by introducing new ways of looking upon what is real. The evolution of our artistic means of expression is always on the move – shapes shocking us today will have become tradition by tomorrow – and the taste we educate today will face the spirit and rhythm of future developments. The esthetic sensitivity of those educated today must take into account the reality of tomorrow, because the language of art cannot be understood without special and well-thought education, polyvalent and solid, both on informational and formative levels.
I for one find that these “space” games of polyhedral modules permanently changing their position and relations, in a limitless variety of shapes, fit perfectly with these desiderata.
The fact that they can be processed on a computer is an extraordinary chance in this era where the computer is more and more becoming an indispensable tool. The question whether the creation of professor Crişan relates more to design or to any other visual form of art, is devoid of any interest as long as these experiences involve the practical side, the emotional side, fantasy, IQ etc., therefore an extraordinary set of references having, as I was saying, impact on informational and formative issues on the one hand, and on esthetical and practical issues on the other.
Congratulations, success and a warm and honest recommendation, without any reservations, to the Emalldo polyhedron, already patented, and for the inventor, full speed in placing on the mass-market these original toys.” |
